Viola / Yi-Chen Hsieh

Violist Yi-Chen Hsieh, was born in Kaohsiung. Hsieh received her Master Degree from Music and arts university of the city of Vienna where she studied with Prof. Jennifer Stumm.

Hsieh graduated from Sinyi Elementary School and Hsin-Hsing Junior High School music talented classes, majoring in Piano with a minor in Viola. She was also participated in chamber music performances. She won first prize in the Taiwan Chamber Music Competition multiple times in junior high school. During high school, she went to the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria as a preparatory student, double majoring in Viola and Piano, studied with Prof. Christian Euler and Ayami Ikeba. Subsequently, at the age of 18, she was admitted as a regular university student with outstanding performance, majoring in Viola. In 2018, after obtaining her bachelor's degree from the university, she entered the master's program at Music and arts university of the city of Vienna.

During her time in Austria, she actively participated in orchestras and chamber music ensembles, including Stadtorchester Weiz, Orchester Stadtpfarrkirche Gleisdorf, MUK sinfonieorchester.

Hsieh has participated masterclasses with Prof. Imai Nobuko, Karsten Dobers, Adam Römer,Stephen Fine in Taiwan and Austria.

After returning to Taiwan, she actively participated in various music performances and teaching. Hsieh currently teaches in Hsin-Hsing Junior High School, and Chung-Hwa School of ARTS. She has been invited to perform with the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, Counterpoint Ensemble, Baroque Camerata, and others.
